Cortez has a deep passion for Basketball and has been playing for GSA Allstars 2028 since 2016 when he was only 7 years old. He is a Combo Guard that plays Point Guard and Shooting Guard positions. Cortez’ ability to consistently play with high energy fuels his scoring potential and gives him the capability to apply consistent pressure on his opponents, disrupting their rhythm and forcing turnovers. His capability to stay engaged on both ends of the floor, combined with his scoring versatility and high IQ, positions Cortez as a prospect to watch closely as he continues to develop.
In 2023, Cortez was invited to play at the African Child Youth Day Basketball Tournament in Cape Town, South Africa that was sponsored by Under Armor. Cortez was recognized as a game MVP during the tournament. Cortez has and continues to train with elite trainers that have played NBA | WNBA basketball and some that have played professionally overseas. He has had the privilege of being coached by a former WNBA player, as well as a former International Professional Coach.

Middle School:
2022 and 2023 Joe Little Tournament Champions. Named the All Tournament MVP both years.
2023 Lutheran Middle School State Basketball Tournament Champions
2023 8th Grade Athlete of the Year
Game Performance averages: 14.1 PPG | 5 RPG | 3.1 APG | 4.3 SPG | 0.3 BPG.
High School:
Starting PG for his High School Varsity Team as a freshman
2024 Houston Vype Magazine representative for Almeta Crawford High School
Cortez would like to pursue further education, studying Aerospace Engineering while still playing the sport he loves.
